I recently hired Nyoman to drive me from Seminyak to Ubud for the day and back. He was safe, on time, courteous and knowledgable. Travelling on my own, it was great to have someone who knew the lay-of-the-land, spoke English, and was well intentioned. He showed me the best shops, restuarants, and spots to see the rice paddies. He saved me a lot of money by taking me to the local silver smiths instead of the mainstream storefronts that try to rip you off (I researched later to be sure, and found he had really helped me out). The silver merchants even took me to their back shops to show me how they make silver jewlery. I know it's common in Bali, but I was really taken aback by his friendliness, patience and all around trust-worthiness
What a patient, skilled driver this man is. We all felt so comfortable and safe with him driving during our recent Bali stay. He's also helpful, pleasant, and funny!
